Workers dismantle oil tankers at a shipwreck yard in Cilincing, North-Jakarta. The metal is sold to several steel mills in Bekasi, West Java who export the recycled metal to India and China. The shipwrecks are bought from different Asian countries..The workers dismantel the wrecks by hand with limited tools in the burning Indonesian sun. They are paid a minimum wage on a daily bases and work 7 days a week. Most workers live in the nearby slums. Labour circumstances are unhealthy and dangerous.
